Implement the curriculum, keeping accurate records, working cooperatively with their grade-level team and adapting materials to the French immersion theme. Teachers are responsible for managing behavior and maintaining a positive classroom climate. Candidates must be eager to work with students of all abilities in a French immersion school and have a deep enough command of French, English, and their content area to adapt instruction to students’ interests and needs.

Instructors will be recruited from a variety of French-speaking countries to represent the broad reach of the French language around the world. International candidates must have a minimum of 2 years of teaching experience and a teaching degree.

This is an on-call as needed position with Académie Lafayette. This is an exempt position pursuant to the U.S. Department of Labor.

Teacher's report to their campus/building principal.

• Implement curriculum in accordance with teacher’s instructions.
• Keep accurate attendance for the day.
• Positive classroom management.

• Hold or be eligible for Missouri Substitute Teaching Certificate*
• Proven experience as a teacher; international candidates must have a minimum of 2 years of teaching experience
• Excellent communication, organization, and interpersonal skills necessary for working in a multicultural environment
• The ability to manage multiple projects efficiently and to meet deadlines
• Ability to integrate technology into the classroom

• All substitutes are required to be registered with Family Care Safety Registry and perform a MACHS federal and state background check. Académie Lafayette will require access to the background check, you will use code 1005 when registering for the MACHS background check to have the results sent to DESE and our district.
• In order to substitute at Académie Lafayette, you must have a current Missouri substitute teaching certificate through Missouri DESE (Department of Elementary and Secondary Education). • Those with foreign transcripts/credentials (and no US college credits), you will need to have a credential evaluation performed to show you have a minimum of 36 hours of college credit, you can find out more information on the DESE website here:
