Kansas City, MO. Rose Brooks Center, a nonprofit domestic violence agency, is currently seeking a full-time Prevention Specialist (Pre-K and K).
This position will provide violence prevention services in Pre-k and Kindergarten classrooms in Jackson County, Missouri. Primary responsibilities include facilitating education presentations to Pre-K through K classrooms throughout the Jackson County area, focusing on building resiliency skills and emotional regulation. Additional responsibilities include working closely with Project SAFE staff, school personnel and students, and developing program curriculum both individually and collaboratively.
Project SAFE Prevention Specialists are also accountable for maintaining timely and accurate program records and client outcome reports.
- Perform all job responsibilities while demonstrating proficiency in all RBC competencies and a commitment to the overall mission of Rose Brooks Center.
- Perform functions of job according to agency policies and procedures.
- Participate in all required trainings and optional trainings as determined.
- Attend scheduled staff, team and supervision meetings.
Required Education, Experience, and Skill:
- Experience working with at-risk youth
- Experience facilitating discussion or educational groups
- Proven organizational skills
- Effective team member in collaboration and cooperation
- Experience in developing and maintaining strong relationships
- Able to maintain accurate, timely documentation of services
- Valid driver’s license and proof of liability auto insurance
Preferred Education, Experience, and
Skills:
- Experience with prevention programs and working with school administration
- Bachelor’s degree in social services, Education or related field or commensurate
- Knowledge of domestic violence
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish
This is a full-time, exempt position scheduled Monday through Friday and requires a minimum of 40 hours/wk. The position works primarily in the schools but also works on-site in an office environment. Some evening and weekend availability may be required.
Compensation:This position falls into a range starting at $46,000 annually (exempt).
