Pediatric Hospitalist
The Division of Pediatric Hospital Medicine is recruiting a full-time board certified/board eligible physician at the Assistant or Associate Professor level with strong clinical skills and an interest in academic medicine. The candidate will participate in clinical, educational and quality improvement initiatives within the Division. Mastery of professionalism, team-based care, medical complexity care, and effective communication are mandatory. The Division is made up of 38 physicians and 6 hospital medicine fellows.
Physicians in the Division hold leadership roles across Graduate Medical Education, Medical Administration, Medical Informatics, Evidence Based Practice, and Ethics. The division supports the professional desires of each partner while supporting personal well-being.
The clinical practice is primarily at our tertiary care facility described below, with opportunities at various times of year to work at our CMH community site described below.
Practice locationsChildrens Mercy Hospital is an urban, tertiary care/academic children's hospital with full pediatric medical/surgical support. Our faculty provides two distinct types of clinical service:
- 24/7 direct care on a hospitalist-only team comprised of medically complex and diverse general pediatric patients. Fellows, medical students and residents on elective may be part of the team.
- Attending supervision of academic teams of residents and students.
Childrens Mercy Kansas is a unique, free-standing community children's hospital located 12 miles southwest of Childrens Mercy Hospital. The hospital serves a breadth of pediatric diagnoses with lower acuity than our main campus. Clinical service on this campus offers a complementary clinical experience, featuring direct interaction with pediatric professionals in our busy on-site pediatric emergency department and in our community referral area.
Qualifications- Board certified or board eligible in Pediatrics.
- Eligible for appointment at the Assistant or Associate Professor level (academic rank commensurate with experience).
- Strong clinical skills with an interest in academic medicine.
- Demonstrated professionalism, teamwork, care of medically complex patients, and effective communication.
Salary and academic rank are commensurate with experience.
