Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Hospitalist
OverviewThe Division of Hematology/Oncology/Bone Marrow Transplantation at Childrens Mercy Kansas City is recruiting for a full-time board certified / board eligible Pediatric Hematology/Oncology physician. This physician will be at the Assistant or Associate Professor level with strong clinical skills and will join the division to provide primarily inpatient Hem/Onc Hospitalist care for nights and weekends. The candidate will participate in clinical, research, and educational efforts and should have an interest in mentoring residents and/or H/O fellows.
Responsibilities- Provide inpatient Hem/Onc hospitalist care for nights and weekends.
- Participate in clinical, research, and educational activities and mentor residents and/or H/O fellows.
- Collaborate with the division of Hematology/Oncology/BMT, including inpatient services (resident/fellow Hem/Onc service, chemotherapy service, BMT service, and inpatient coagulation), with night coverage by a resident and fellow on call.
- Support outpatient care in a facility with 14 infusion bays and 18 exam rooms dedicated to Hem/Onc patients; work with other subspecialties to care for children with cancer.
- Engage in remaining duties outside nights/weekends to support career development, quality improvement, teaching, and patient advocacy.
- Academic appointment at the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Medicine; salary range and appointment commensurate with experience.
- Contribute to a culture of excellence, integrity, collegiality, antiracism, and inclusion of diverse backgrounds.
- Board certified or board eligible Pediatric Hematology/Oncology physician.
- Appointed at the Assistant or Associate Professor level with strong clinical skills.
- Interest in mentoring residents and/or Hem/Onc fellows.
- Academic appointment with UMKC School of Medicine; salary range commensurate with experience.
