Children’s Mercy Kansas City is seeking a Full time Pediatric Hand Surgeon
.
The Department of Pediatric Orthopaedic Surgery is looking for a fellowship-trained hand surgeon to join the Division of Pediatric Hand Surgery at our children’s hospital. Our Orthopedic department includes 12 full-time pediatric surgeons with sections of hand surgery, spine surgery, sports medicine, and trauma surgery, and 6 non-surgical pediatric orthopedic specialists. The successful candidate will be a full-time hand surgeon in our reputable hand program, with training and experience in pediatric hand, wrist, and upper extremities, and proficiency in trauma, replantation, microsurgical reconstruction, congenital conditions, peripheral nerve and brachial plexus disorders, and management of upper extremity spasticity disorders.
This position includes an active clinical and surgical practice, along with teaching and research opportunities. Academic appointments are available through the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Medicine (UMKC). Children’s Mercy Kansas City is the academic training site for UMKC orthopedic residents, and we also provide training for rotating orthopedic residents from the University of Kansas School of Medicine and the Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences.
Responsibilities- Maintain an active clinical and surgical practice in pediatric hand, wrist, and upper extremity care.
- Contribute to teaching and research initiatives within the department and affiliated institutions.
- Collaborate with a large, multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive care.
- Fellowship-trained in hand surgery with experience in pediatric hand, wrist, and upper extremity conditions.
- Proficient in trauma, replantation, microsurgical reconstruction, congenital conditions, peripheral nerve and brachial plexus disorders, and management of upper extremity spasticity disorders.
- Ability to work within a large, collegial pediatric orthopedic team.

Children’s Mercy Kansas City serves as the academic training site for UMKC orthopedic residents. Training for rotating orthopedic residents from the University of Kansas School of Medicine and the Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences is also provided.
