Position: Physician - Academic Rheumatologist and/or Investigator

Overview

The University of Kansas Health System, Division of Allergy, Clinical Immunology, and Rheumatology is seeking academically driven rheumatologists and investigators to join our growing team. This position supports our mission of delivering exceptional patient care while fostering excellence in teaching, research, and academic scholarship.

The Division is comprised of sections of Allergy/Clinical Immunology and Rheumatology, with 22 physicians and 2 Physician Assistants. The Division’s outstanding clinical support includes 4 clinical Pharm Ds, 1 on 1 RN support for each physician, and several LPNs and MAs.

Our Fellowships train 6 Rheumatology and 4 Allergy/Immunology fellows. The division has its own fully supported Clinical Trials Unit. Musculoskeletal ultrasound is actively utilized in the clinic and is incorporated in the fellows’ curriculum. Several subspecialty clinics provide disease-oriented care in collaboration with other disciplines. Two Infusion Therapy Units work closely with the Division.

Responsibilities
  • Provide clinical rheumatology care within the division and contribute to faculty teaching, research, and academic scholarship.
  • Engage in teaching and mentorship for fellows and trainees; participate in the division's clinical trials program.
  • Utilize musculoskeletal ultrasound in the clinic and incorporate it into the fellows’ curriculum.
  • Collaborate with subspecialty clinics and other disciplines to deliver disease-oriented care.
  • Support the Infusion Therapy Units and coordinate care with the Division’s support staff.
  • Pursue opportunities for professional development and career advancement with potential faculty appointment to the University of Kansas Medical Center.
Qualifications
  • Preferred candidate: PhD, MD/PhD and/or physicians with expertise in clinical, basic or translational research.
