Overview
This is the one you’ve been looking for. This is a travel job with geotechnical projects across the US. Crews work a 3-week on, 1-week off schedule.
All work is geotechnical, including geohazard projects like landslide repair, mudslide repair and erosion control, where experienced tradespeople play a critical role in our success.
Responsibilities- Working with a Superintendent and teammates, apply your skills effectively to get work done safely and efficiently.
- Work in your specialty area but be willing to contribute other tasks that help drive project success.
- Travel across the US to do work. Schedules include 3-week on, 1-week off or 5-day on, 2-day off depending on crew location and work.
- Learn and apply new skills to expand capabilities: machines, soils technology, specialty techniques, leadership and problem-solving principles.
- 3+ years of geotechnical or civil construction experience
- Heavy equipment operation experience (skid steer, excavator, concrete/grout pump, etc.)
- Equipment cleanup and maintenance
- Experience with casing, rock drilling or similar
- Experience with Shotcrete
- At least one year of traveling construction labor experience
- At least one year of working outside in all conditions
- Ability to understand and meet daily production targets
- Problem-solving history; ability to grasp a problem, identify a solution, and take action
- History of complying with construction crew safety principles and tools
- Ability to be on time, all the time, every time
- Climates vary from tropical to desert environments
- The noise level is moderate; hearing protection is often required
- Exposure to typical construction site dangers
- Regular heavy lifting (75 lbs+) of construction materials
Up to 100% travel across the U.S.
Compensation- This is a GMT4 job posting. The wage for that role is $26 - $29/hour
- Hourly rate based on experience. Pay scale increases for: more years of experience and technical expertise with drilling tools; ability to drive (CMV or CDL); experience or certifications for heavy equipment operations; experience with shotcrete or grouting pumps; experience directing teams, managing customer interactions, or managing projects
