Estimator - Civil Construction

We self-perform all aspects of work from excavation and grading to utilities and paving. We need another good Estimator to help with our huge backlog of work!

The Estimator position requires 5+ years of experience with a self-performing civil construction firm with expertise in highways, earthwork, concrete structures, underground utilities, and/or paving projects.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in Heavy Highway or Civil Construction
• BS Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management preferred
• Expertise in Self-Performed Heavy Civil/HHWY Construction
• Experience in managing self-perform forces in earthwork, underground, concrete structures, and/or paving is preferred

Responsibilities

• As the Estimator, you’ll be responsible for estimating time, labor, and material costs while maintaining acceptable profit margins.
• You will work with a team of Estimators and associated office and field management.
• You will be responsible for obtaining quotes from subcontractors and vendors when needed.
• This position’s accountability includes, but is not limited to:
  Pre-construction, Project Set-up, Project Cost-Control, Scheduling, Submittals, Scheduling, Change Orders, Cost Control, Complete Project Oversight, and Profit & Loss.

Employee Compensation & Benefits:

• Base Salary $120K-$180K DOE

Required Experience/Skills/

Qualifications:

• 3-15 years of experience in heavy civil construction with an emphasis in the public works, heavy highway, underground utilities, or commercial or residential site work arena
• Experience with state DOT and municipalities is ideal but not required
• Experience with any of the following: HCSS Heavy Bid, AGTEK, Bluebeam, Microsoft Project, Microsoft Office, and/or Primavera P6
• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent experience
• Negotiated project experience ideal, including technical writing skills
