GENERAL DESCRIPTION:The Site Supervisor position is a " bags on" position. You will not only act as the job supervisor responsible for directing and verifying that tasks assigned to carpenters, laborers, and subcontractors are completed, but you will also perform many of the necessary job tasks side by side with your crew. The site manager works directly with our production and administrative teams, as well as with the project architects and designers to build one-of-a-kind projects.
They are also the face of Hurst Construction on the site and fill a critical role in defining the customer experience.
- Read and interpret sketches, blueprints, and specifications in order to fully understand the scope of work.
- Lead by example and instruct a labor team of 1 - 4 teammates for all phases of the project from demolition to finish to Carpentry.
- Maintain a clean, secure, and safe job site.
- Track and document the project utilizing project management software
- Work with the Production/ Project Manager to maintain the project schedule, material ordering, subcontractor scheduling, change orders, etc.
- Oversee the work of all trades on-site to ensure the company standard of quality is maintained.
- Provide effective solutions to issues and challenges presented by the project.
- Be committed to providing high attention to the fine details in all project finishes to ensure the project exceeds the expectations of the design team and client.
- Other construction-related duties as required to meet client and business needs.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 5+ years preferred (a minimum of 3+ years ) of general contractor/construction experience.
- Experience in framing, trim carpentry, concrete work, drywall, paint, and basic electrical and plumbing.
- Knowlege of multiple aspects of residential construction (Foundation to finish) is essential as well undsstanding of construciton systems and sequences.
- Reliable Transportation.
- Positive Attitude.
- Good communication skills.
- Proficient knowledge of hand and power tools needed and used for rough and finish carpentry etc.
- Have a strong desire to learn and grow
- Experience in web-based construction Management software is a plus.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus.
- Other experience is welcome (heavy machinery, cabinetry, architecture & design, etc.)
- High school level of education.
- This is a full-time, non-exempt position.
- Pay is $29-$36 /hr commensurate with experience.
