Superintendent, Construction

Description

Ledcor is seeking an experienced and dedicated Superintendent for a large-scale long‑haul fiber installation project. The successful candidate will oversee day‑to‑day field operations, develop project plans, and monitor performance. They are recognized as an expert, anticipate client needs, provide solutions, share expertise, and mentor colleagues. This role requires the ability to travel up to 100 % of the time.

• Ensure projects meet approved plans, specifications and building codes.
• Lead the development of Project Quality Plans and Safety Programs, and oversee incident investigations.
• Review and update construction schedules, address delays, and contribute to project schedules.
• Estimate activity durations and materials for complex projects.
• Maintain working knowledge of reporting and tracking the financial aspects of the project.
• Participate in subcontractor and supplier selection, procurement and negotiations.
• Set priorities and allocate resources as needed for the entire field team.
• Provide leadership and mentorship to project staff.

• Three to five years of experience as a Telecommunications Construction Superintendent.
• Knowledge of underground fiber installation using boring and plow equipment.
• Post‑secondary education in Construction, Engineering, or a related discipline is an asset.
• Comprehensive knowledge of construction documents, drawings, specifications, and current construction practices.
• Effective communication and leadership skills.
• Ability to directly supervise craft employees and sub‑contractors.
• Problem‑solving abilities and capacity to anticipate and address issues.
• Strong organizational and planning skills.

• Able to meet the physical requirements of the position which involves sitting, standing, bending, climbing, lifting (up to 50 lb), working at heights, and in all types of weather conditions.
• This is a site position that requires travel 100 % of the time.
