Overview
The Kansas City Autism Training Center’s Astra Day School is seeking a dedicated and responsible Preschool Earlycare Support. Monday through Friday, pay rate $19/hour.
ResponsibilitiesPunctual Arrival:
Arrive at 7:20am to greet early care students and ensure a welcoming and engaging environment by 7:30.Classroom Preparation and Care:
Set up the classroom for the day, including arranging toys and learning materials; file previous day’s data sheets and prepare new data sheets on clipboards; return materials to their correct place in the room and building.Parent Interactions:
Greet children and parents upon arrival, create a warm, welcoming, and inclusive atmosphere; clearly note any information communicated by parents on the clipboard for the Lead Teacher; communicate positive child experiences to parents in person and via an app (Basecamp).Child Supervision and Engagement:
Monitor and actively engage with children during early care hours, promoting positive social interactions and activities; teach to the values and preschool lessons, including kindness and assent; follow Astra classroom protocols to maintain a consistent and safe environment; follow plans provided by Program Director or develop a plan.Record Keeping:
Accurately record arrival times of children and own job task allocation; collect and maintain classroom data as required; complete Ouch and Accident Reports as required.Support with Toileting and Diapering:
Assist children with toileting needs and provide diapering support as needed, ensuring hygiene standards are met.
Previous experience working with young children in a nanny, preschool, or childcare setting; strong interpersonal skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with a team and maintain a positive, professional demeanor.
Reliable, punctual, and able to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Must pass a background check and provide references.
Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds.
Ability to sit on the floor, bend, squat, and engage in physical activities with children.
Must be able to move quickly in case of emergency.

Additional hours can be provided if desired. Preference will be given to applicants who are willing to acquire RBT certification (see the BACB website for details).
