UMKC School of Dentistry, a leader in the advancement of oral healthcare, is seeking an experienced and self‑motivated Business Support Specialist II to provide administrative support. This is a growth opportunity for the right candidate interested in Finance & Accounting, Higher Education, and Healthcare.

The position will work closely with the Dean of Business Affairs to support the efficient operation of the Dental School through a variety of tasks. Specific duties include but are not limited to:

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage parking operations at the Dental School
  • Managing contract employee onboarding, replacement, and invoicing
  • Manage insurance credentialing for faculty and students
  • Manage advertising as required by the UMKC Diversity recruitment plan
  • Create and distribute monthly, quarterly, and annual reports
  • Assist with payroll reconciliation, purchasing, and deposits as needed
  • Assist Building Coordinator with facilities issues
  • Provide administrative support to the Assistant Dean for Engagement and Wellness
  • Handle the office phone, greet and direct faculty, students, staff, and visitors in a courteous and professional manner; provide information by answering questions and requests
  • Organize and schedule meetings
  • Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications

Associate’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 2 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Friendly and professional demeanor
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite and database software (e.g., People Soft)
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and take on additional responsibilities
Preferred Experience
  • Previous administrative experience
  • Accounts payable or receivable
  • Project management skills
Anticipated Hiring Range

$19.50 – $21.50 per hour, commensurate with experience, education, and internal equity.
