Cross Connect Talent is helping a well known Kansas City client with a Document Control Assistant role. This is a 100% in office role.

Position Overview

The Document Controller is responsible for maintaining the integrity, accuracy, accessibility, and security of the company’s documentation lifecycle. This role ensures that all project information is meticulously managed, compliant with industry standards, and readily available to stakeholders.

Core Responsibilities
  • Lifecycle Management: Oversee the end-to-end lifecycle of project documents, ensuring all Title Blocks (Document Number, Title, and Revision) are precise and current.
  • Quality & Compliance: Enforce rigorous document control procedures. Verify that all submissions meet industry standards and specific client requirements.
  • Validation & Security: Ensure all documents obtain necessary signatures and approvals prior to release. Maintain strict protocols for handling confidential or sensitive information.
  • Strategic Communication: Act as the central point of contact for the project team. Manage the tracking of all transmittals (incoming/outgoing) and provide timely responses to documentation queries.
  • EDMS Mastery: Serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Electronic Document Management Systems. Provide training and support to internal and external users.
  • Archival Excellence: Manage the long-term archiving process to ensure seamless document retrieval years after project completion.
  • EDMS Platforms: Expert-level knowledge of Procore, Aconex, SharePoint, Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC), Hexagon SDx, and Document Locator (DL).
  • Software: Advanced proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite

Qualifications & Skills

Experience: 2–5 years of dedicated experience in Document Management.

Education: Bachelor’s Degree preferred.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
