Cost Accounting Manager

Chief of Staff KC is currently seeking a <
Cost Accounting Manager > for an outstanding client of ours located in the Kansas City metro area.

• The number one focus for this role is cost accounting, so this person must have a strong standard cost accounting background and will be coming from the manufacturing industry.
• In addition to cost accounting, this person will also help improve their financial reporting, do some data analytics, variance analysis, budgeting, cycle counting, inventory management, etc
• Lead the preparation of financial statements, budgets, forecasts, and management reports
• Oversee general ledger activities, ensuring accurate and timely month-end and year-end closes
• Ensure compliance with GAAP, tax regulations, and company financial policies
• Stay up to date on evolving accounting standards, tax laws, and industry changes.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; CPA strongly preferred
• 4+ years of progressive accounting experience, including supervisory responsibilities and multi-entity management.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
• Proficiency with various accounting software, Microsoft Dynamics, and Power BI preferred.
• Typically 4 days in-office, 1 day WFH. Travel involved.
