Senior Accountant

Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our team in Kansas City, Missouri. In this Contract to permanent position, you will oversee essential accounting functions while ensuring accuracy and compliance with organizational policies. This role is ideal for a candidate who thrives in a fast-paced environment and has a strong background in financial reporting and reconciliation.

Responsibilities:

- Manage month-end closing processes, ensuring timely and accurate completion of all tasks.

- Maintain and update the general ledger to reflect accurate financial data.

- Prepare and post journal entries to support financial operations and reporting.

- Conduct account reconciliations to ensure alignment between internal records and external statements.

- Perform bank reconciliations to verify cash balances and transactions.

- Identify and resolve discrepancies in financial records to maintain data integrity.

- Collaborate with other departments to streamline accounting procedures and improve efficiency.

- Assist in preparing detailed financial reports for internal and external stakeholders.

- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.

- Support audits by providing accurate documentation and responding to inquiries. Requirements - Extensive experience in month-end close processes and financial reporting.

- Proficiency in managing general ledger accounts and maintaining accurate records.

- Strong knowledge of preparing and posting journal entries.

- Expertise in performing account and bank reconciliations.

- Ability to identify and resolve discrepancies in financial data.

- Familiarity with accounting standards and principles.

- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

- Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively across teams.
