SummaryThe maintenance electronic technician installs, maintains, and repairs electronic systems and equipment by following blueprints and schematics. Candidates should be able to use diagnostic tools to troubleshoot issues, calibrate components, and replace faulty parts, while also keeping detailed records of their work and performing quality control. This role often requires a strong understanding of electronics theory, proficiency with hand and power tools, and strong problem‑solving skills.
CoreResponsibilities
- Installation and assembly:
Install new electronic equipment and systems and assemble components using hand tools. - Maintenance and repair:
Perform routine maintenance and diagnose and repair electronic systems and equipment. This includes replacing parts and aligning components. - Troubleshooting:
Troubleshoot complex electronic issues by analyzing symptoms and identifying problems. - Testing and calibration:
Test existing equipment to identify problems, calibrate sensors, and ensure systems meet quality standards. - Documentation:
Read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints. Maintain logs of equipment performance, document system changes, and generate reports on work performed. - Collaboration:
Work with engineers and other technicians and may provide technical assistance to customers or other departments.
Skills and Qualifications
- Technical knowledge:
Strong understanding of electronic theory, components, and systems. - Manual dexterity:
Proficient hand tools and soldering irons to work on small circuitry. - Diagnostic skills:
Ability to use a variety of test equipment, such as amp meters and multimeters. - Problem‑solving:
Strong analytical skills to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues. - Communication:
Ability to effectively communicate with colleagues and supervisors.
Skilled in reading and understanding technical documentation, blueprints, and schematics.
