Material Handlers move products in an industrial battery distribution center (DC). Our DC is large in size due to our batteries but operates with a small and mighty team of 20 employees. Unlike some DCs, everyone knows your name and we truly work as a team. Material handlers must perform duties in a safe and efficient manner.

1st Shift Available
Responsibilities
- Must successfully complete the material handling training and be licensed for the equipment used.
- Capable of performing simple math and record information in written form.
- Input and extract information from the computer.
- Load and unload over-the-road trailers with powered equipment.
- Must be able to understand and communicate in simple English to receive training instruction and to perform team responsibilities.
- Comply with all safety and health policies and procedures.
- Maintain the warehouse in a clean and orderly condition.
- Must be able to operate and follow JD Edwards system.
- Comply with current quality systems requirements.
- Follow lean manufacturing procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Physical Requirements:
- Motor skills to operate material handling equipment in locations where product is stored from the floor to 16 foot racks in narrow aisles.
- Perform various duties requiring walking, sitting, lifting, bending, twisting.
- Occasionally required to work in extreme environmental conditions (hot, humid, cold).
- Must be able to wear protective equipment required of the position.
- Occasional lifting of up to 30-40 lbs.
- Reach truck, fork lift, walkie, clipboard, pen/pencil, JD Edwards rf
Skills Required:
- Excellent attention to detail
- Excellent multitasking skills
- Previous manufacturing or related experience
