Position Title: Assembler
Wage: $16-$25/hour
Shift: 1st
Hours: 6am-4:30pm Monday-Thursday, Optional overtime on Fridays (6-hour shift, off by 12pm)
We are seeking a skilled and dependable Assembler to join our capital equipment manufacturing team in Kansas City, KS. This role involves assembling complex, heavy‑duty equipment used in the mulch dye and rock quarry industries. Candidates should be comfortable working in a fabrication environment and collaborating with a team to build equipment with multiple moving components.
Assembler Responsibilities- Safely operate hand tools, power tools, cranes, forklifts, and other material‑handling equipment
- Use measuring tools such as tape measures, calipers, levels, and squares to verify alignment and tolerances
- Follow all safety procedures, PPE requirements, and company policies
- Inspect assemblies for quality, accuracy, and workmanship prior to final approval
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Work closely with fabrication, welding, and quality teams to meet production deadlines
- Assist with loading, staging, and final preparation of equipment for shipment as needed
- High school diploma / GED
- Forklift experience required
- 1-3 years of experience in mechanical assembly, fabrication, or industrial manufacturing (or equivalent mechanical experience)
- Ability to read and understand mechanical drawings and assembly prints
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem‑solving skills
- Ability to work overtime as needed to meet production deadlines
- Basic knowledge of hand tools and basic math skills, including accurate use of a tape measure
- Ability to work under temperature variations based on weather and production equipment
- Eagerness to learn new skills, accepting and following instructions from multiple supervisors, and collaboration with team members
- Awareness of surroundings, basic occupational health and safety practices, and flexibility to adjust to changing customer needs
- Positive attitude, time management, and strong problem‑solving skills
- Physically able to safely and consistently lift and pull material up to 50 pounds
- Ability to work inside and outside of a warehouse with extreme temperature fluctuations, comfortable in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment, and experience in a shop floor environment with exposure to steel fabrication, noise, and moving equipment
- Standing, bending, climbing, and working at heights as needed
