IT Support (Deskside Support)
This is an IT Support (Deskside Support) position for one of our clients in Kansas City.
The selected candidate will provide on-site technical support covering IT infrastructure, networking, data center operations, and hardware troubleshooting. You will work closely with internal teams, customer teams, and remote technical specialists to identify and resolve issues efficiently. Responsibilities include monitoring system health, supporting network devices, troubleshooting VOIP phones, managing basic server tasks, and ensuring smooth day-to-day IT operations following SLA guidelines.
Key Responsibilities- Basic knowledge of network devices such as switches, routers, wireless access points (preferably CISCO, Riverbed)
- Assign switch ports to specific VLANs
- Patch phone ports to switches as needed
- Basic troubleshooting of Avaya VOIP phones
- Troubleshoot issues with fiber links between switches and communicate to remote teams
- Troubleshoot and replace network switch chassis blades when required
- Understand any Data Center Infrastructure Management Application
- Perform periodic visual checks of IDF rooms for cooling and power status (UPS alarms, PDU health)
- Utilize monitoring tools such as Solar Winds
- Basic networking and operating system concepts
- Assist network and data center admins during technical troubleshooting
- Basic knowledge of servers, storage devices, and backup technologies (EMC Avamar, Data Domain)
- Knowledge of monitoring tool outcomes
- Basic knowledge of ITSM tools (preferably Service Now)
- Experience in an SLA-based environment
- Minimum 3‑5 years of experience in the above areas
- Strong problem‑solving and communication skills
