Housekeeping Supervisor

Overview

Housekeeping Supervisor role at MCR Hotels. The Housekeeping Supervisor is responsible for cleaning and preparing efficient operations of the hotel, including rooms, front and back of house, public areas, and laundry. In the absence of the Executive Housekeeper, the supervisor assumes duties and manages housekeeping staff. On days not covering Executive Housekeeper duties, the supervisor may clean guest rooms and public spaces as needed.

• Manage Guest Request Log: review daily to ensure all requests are met and address problems proactively.
• VIP Management: monitor VIP guests and special requests.
• Oversee Housekeeping Team: conduct daily stand-ups to review objectives and assign/checklists in the absence of the Executive Housekeeper.
• Room Inspection: inspect rooms and public spaces for quality and cleanliness in the absence of the Executive Housekeeper.
• Storage Rooms: maintain organization and cleanliness of storage rooms, mechanical rooms, and housekeeping closets.
• Pre-Cleaning Duties: stock guest supplies, cleaning supplies, and linen for housekeeping carts.
• Trash and Linen Removal: remove trash and dirty linen; replace bed linens and replenish supplies.
• Deep Cleaning: conduct deep cleaning activities as needed with maintenance department.
• Departmental Meetings: conduct daily department meetings in the absence of the Executive Housekeeper.
• Supply Management: maintain stock of housekeeping and laundry supplies; order as needed monthly/quarterly.
• Inventory: conduct monthly and quarterly inventories.
• Maintenance Requests: monitor work orders and submit to Engineering; follow up for completion in the absence of the Executive Housekeeper.
• Status Reports: balance and clear room status nightly; resolve discrepancies.
• Lost and Found: maintain Lost and Found procedures.
• Chemical Safety: ensure proper use of hazardous chemicals per OSHA standards.
• Key Control: maintain a key control system for the department.

• Experience in hospitality, service, or related field; supervisory experience preferred.
• Can-do attitude; willingness to learn.
• Ability to follow guidelines and procedures; work well under pressure.
• Strong listening, conflict resolution, and communication skills; hospitality mindset.
• Age 18 or older; ability to work varied schedule including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Clock-in/Clock-out discipline; punctuality; adherence to breaks and reporting protocols.
• Physical ability to perform essential functions; standing, lifting up to 25 pounds, and mobility throughout the hotel.
