Overview

We are seeking an Outpatient Rehabilitation Patient Account Registrar, sometimes referred to as an Admission Representative for Outpatient Rehabilitation. The Outpatient Rehabilitation Patient Account Registrar (Outpatient Rehab PAR) will support the Physical, Occupational, and Speech Therapy Departments. The Account Registrar will ensure patients are accurately registered, authorized, and billed for their rehabilitation services. This position is on a per diem basis, meaning PD/PRN as needed.

Per Diem Schedule

The per diem schedule consists of 2-3 days per week. Days are flexible: we are open 7:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 7:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Fridays.

Responsibilities
  • Greet and register patients for physical, occupational, or speech therapy, verifying identity, insurance, and physician orders.
  • Confirm insurance coverage, obtain pre-authorizations, and collect copays or self-pay amounts at check-in.
  • Schedule therapy evaluations, follow-up visits, and coordinate changes or cancellations with patients and therapists.
  • Ensure all required documentation and authorizations are complete, accurate, and scanned into the electronic health record.
  • Provide excellent customer service by assisting patients, therapists, and physicians with questions and registration or billing needs.
Qualifications

Education and Work Experience

  • High school graduate or GED equivalent.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize needs to meet required timelines.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Customer service experience.

Additional Qualifications That Are a Plus:

  • One year previous medical setting/hospital experience in scheduling or registration.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.
