Biotechnology, Pharmaceutical, Aerospace, Semiconductor, and other selected Industrial markets. The company, founded in 1959, has performed on-site precision chemical cleaning in every State of the Union as well as several projects in Asia, continental Europe, England, Ireland and Mexico.

Position Opportunity
Are you a natural-born leader with a passion for travel? Do you have a track record of successfully managing projects in precision industrial chemical cleaning? Astro Pak is actively searching for Project Leaders, Senior Project Leaders, and Project Superintendents to join our nationwide company! These roles are dynamic, fast-paced roles that provide functional management and technical leadership for our on-site chemical cleaning passivation field work in primarily biopharma, oil & gas and aerospace industries.

You will have the opportunity to travel throughout the United States while leading teams of talented technicians.

Project Leaders/Project Superintendents can earn $75,000 to $100,000 per year through base and overtime compensation and are also eligible for:

  • Sign-on bonus between $3,000 and $5,000 depending on level and experience
  • Per diem of an additional $175 per day for travel positions

The Project Leader provides functional management and technical leadership of on-site Field work. A Project Leader leads and supervises on-site Field crews in providing excellent service on schedule for the client. The Project Leader is responsible for leading the execution of the work, proper documentation, and customer service.

  • Manages project activities and personnel to ensure project progresses on schedule and within prescribed budget
  • Establishes work plan and staffing for each phase of job, including job personnel and job resources, i.e., propane, waste tank, etc.
  • Able to execute various processes, i.e. derouge, bio-cleaning, hydro & pneumatic testing and drying systems to dewpoint
  • Demonstrates Leadership qualities to lead crews and effectively communicate with clients, serving as a mentor to Associate Technicians and Field Technicians
  • Run shutdown projects overseeing multiple crews and circuits
  • Read piping & instrument diagrams with flow paths for crews and the client to review
  • Able to perform job walks and conceptualize scope of work to assist in bidding process
  • Delegates, sets expectations and monitors activities of technicians per project

Qualifications

Education/Training/Certifications:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) strongly preferred
  • OSHA Certification Required
  • Possess a valid Medical DOT Certificate
  • Technical Training or AA Degree preferred
  • HAZWOPER, Confined Space Certifications are preferred

Related Experience: Minimum 3 years’ of hands-on chemical cleaning experience and at least 1 year of experience leading remote chemical cleaning projects. Demonstrated project management responsibilities preferred.

Overtime: Willing and able to work significant overtime, including holidays, weekends, and on short notice call in as required.

License: Possess a valid class “C” driver’s license and an acceptable driving record.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts
  • Will be exposed to dust, fume, smoke, toxic chemicals, and disagreeable odors
  • Noisy conditions periodically
  • Wet or humid conditions (indoors)
  • Working on ladders, rooftops, bucket trucks, scaffolding, etc.
  • Exposed to vibration (i.e., operating jackhammer, impact wrench)
  • Periodically improperly illuminated or awkward and confining workspace
  • 30-50% of work shifts require working a night shift
