Overview
Are you an engineer interested in something a little less conventional? Waters Edge Aquatic Design is seeking an engineer (civil, structural, or MEP) for project engineering/project management for the design of commercial aquatic centers, natatoriums, water parks, and similar recreational and park developments.
Waters Edge Aquatic Design is a 25-year multi-disciplinary engineering firm that works across the United States on commercial aquatic centers, water parks, natatoriums, and water recreation projects.
ResponsibilitiesBase responsibilities include typical tasks required of the respective engineering discipline, including:
- Civil engineering discipline:
Site development plans, including layout, grading, drainage, utilities, profiles, and earthwork. - Structural engineering discipline:
Structural analysis, design, and details for a variety of structures and systems. - Mechanical, electrical, plumbing discipline:
Analysis and integration of MEP systems into water park systems and support buildings. Analysis of indoor air quality and design of HVAC systems for indoor water parks, recreation centers, and natatoriums. - Technical reports, specifications, and construction drawings.
- Permitting applications and submissions, including planning and zoning, building permits, and land disturbance.
- Engineering reports, studies, and designs, utilizing recognized industry standards and regulatory-compliant approaches.
Additionally, training will be provided for:
- Designing aquatic centers and water recreational amenities with a human-centered focus
- Designing for safety and comfort
- Designing for flexibility and adaptability, creating spaces that can transform for different activities and events
- Performing assessments of existing aquatics and recreational facilities
- Professional Engineering (P.E.) License, or the ability to obtain one in the near future
- Experience and interest in coordinating with team members, clients, and performing quality control reviews
- Ability to navigate and assemble plan drawing sets and other construction documents
- Design experience in a relevant engineering discipline, including:
- Civil engineering - site design or hydraulics/hydrology
- AutoCAD and/or Revit experience preferred
- Salary is negotiable pending experience and skills
