Job Description SummaryThe School of Nursing at the University of Kansas Medical Center is seeking applications for a full-time faculty member in a tenured or tenure track position. Specifically, we are in search of a highly motivated scientist/scholar with research interests aligning with School of Nursing and Medical Center priority research areas: aging/dementia & brain health, cancer, precision health, and rural health. Appointment, rank, and salary are commensurate with experience.
KeyRoles and Responsibilities
- Establish and maintain external funding in a defined area of research.
- Disseminate scholarly work in professional publications and presentations at local, state, national, and international meetings, and through publications, town halls, and/or mass media to key stakeholders.
- Teach in School of Nursing programs according to educational preparation and program need.
- Participate in ongoing course and curriculum development, implementation, and evaluation activities.
- Participate in service-related activities (serving on committees/task forces, student advising/mentoring, etc.) to support the mission of the school and university.

Required QualificationsEducation
:
PhD or equivalent research doctorate in nursing or related field.
This position requires a formal degree in the cited discipline area(s) to ensure that candidates have the foundational knowledge and skill set required to perform the duties of the position. The level of degree is based on accreditation requirements, institutional standards of academic and professional excellence, alignment with peer institution benchmarks, and contributes to the credibility and effectiveness of the role within the university community.
Licensure

Candidates who are nurses must hold or be eligible for RN Licensure in the State of Kansas
Work Experience:
- Completion of a post-doctoral research program.
- Experience with funded research from intramural and/or extramural sources in areas that align with KU Medical Center research priorities.
- Experience leading or working on interdisciplinary research teams.
- Experience leading or working on community-partnered research teams.
- Experience disseminating scholarship through oral and written venues.
- Experience teaching in an academic program.
- Experience leading curriculum development/revisions or research efforts in an academic program.
- Verbal and written communication skills.
