Overview
The University of Kansas Health System, Department of Medicine, is seeking a full-time Internal Medicine Nocturnist who will join the team and support the departmental mission of delivering the highest quality of care, as well as satisfying teaching, research, and academic responsibilities at the region's qua ternary referral center.
The position offers a dynamic opportunity to deliver comprehensive inpatient care on the nocturnist team. Patient care is provided in shift scheduling, shared equally among members of the group. The role includes participation in call duties, aligned with established practices for hospitalist services. There will be limited interaction with house staff in a supervisory and triage role. The academic medical center offers full sub-specialty support with a closed ICU at the main campus.
There is a strong emphasis on scholarly pursuits, including collaborative education and research activities with students and fellows; independent research initiatives are encouraged.
- Provide inpatient internal medicine care as part of the nocturnist team, with shift-based scheduling.
- Participate in call duties in accordance with hospitalist practices.
- Offer limited supervision and triage support to house staff.
- Engage in scholarly activities, including education and research with students and fellows; pursue independent research as desired.
- MD/DO or equivalent
- Board certified or board eligible in Internal Medicine
- Eligible for licensure in Kansas
