Educational Interpreter - Kannapolis, NC

A dedicated Sign Language Interpreter is needed to support elementary students within a school setting in Kannapolis, NC. This contract position offers a consistent schedule throughout the school year, working 35 hours weekly from 7:00 am to 2:30 pm, including a 30-minute paid lunch break. The role requires onsite presence to effectively facilitate communication for students requiring sign language services.

Key Qualifications and

Experience:

• Valid licensure as a Sign Language Interpreter (SLI)
• EIPA score of 3.5 or higher is required, or alternatively, RID certification is acceptable
• Experience interpreting in an elementary school environment, particularly with younger students
• Ability to arrive prior to student arrival daily and be fully prepared
• Commitment to onsite work, no option for remote or voice-over interpreting (VOCO)
