Riverside Healthcare is seeking a skilled and dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to join our acute care team in Kankakee, Illinois. The RN will provide high-quality, compassionate care to patients undergoing various treatments. This role involves assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will have strong clinical and interpersonal skills, the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently, and a commitment to excellence in delivering patient-centered care.

Demonstrates flexibility with assignments within professional scope/duties/licensure.

• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized care plans.
• Administer medications, treatments, and procedures within scope as ordered by a provider.
• Continuously monitor vital signs and clinical status, documenting changes accurately.
• Coordinate care with physicians and interdisciplinary team, participating in team meetings and discharge planning.
• Educate patients and families, taking culture and age into consideration.
• Maintain accurate documentation and comply with regulatory standards.
• Engage with patients to promote comfort, trust, and a positive environment.
• Contribute to a collaborative work environment and provide feedback to peers.
• Respond rapidly to medical emergencies, performing life‑saving procedures.
• Adhere to infection control protocols and leverage nurse‑driven protocols.
• Complete required continuing education for acute stroke care and maintain hospital‑based certifications.
• Participate in ongoing professional development and train new staff as needed.
• Engage in quality improvement, evidence‑based practice, and research initiatives.

• Graduate of an approved nursing school.
• Current RN license in the state of Illinois.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• For ICUs, Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification within 1 year of hire.
• New graduate RNs hired after 01/01/25 must earn a BSN within 3 years of start date.

• Minimum two years of acute care nursing experience.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
• Professional nursing certification in specialty area preferred.
• Basic ECG recognition skills preferred.

Pay Range: $34.18 – $44.45 per hour. Base compensation based on qualifications and experience. Premium pay such as shift differential and on‑call available. Opportunity for annual increases based on performance.
