We are currently seeking a Hot Pit Operator at our location in Kankakee, IL
. This position will need to work 12 hour rotating shifts and weekends as needed.
The Hot Pit Operator will be responsible for overseeing and managing the operation of the hot pit area. This includes preparing vehicles and equipment for high-performance testing or maintenance, ensuring safety protocols are followed, and working closely with mechanics and engineers to facilitate smooth operations. The role demands a keen attention to detail, strong communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a high-energy environment.
- Prepare Vehicles
:
Ensure vehicles or equipment are properly positioned and prepared for testing or maintenance in the hot pit. - Safety Compliance
:
Monitor and enforce safety protocols in the hot pit area, ensuring all personnel are adhering to safety standards. - Pit Operations
:
Assist with fueling, tire changes, and other maintenance tasks as directed during high-performance testing or races. - Equipment Handling
:
Operate specialized equipment such as fuel trucks, tire changers, and air guns to support pit crew operations.
- Experience
:
Previous experience in a high-performance or racing environment preferred, but not required. Willingness to train and learn is essential. - Skills
:
Strong understanding of mechanical systems, ability to operate specialized equipment, excellent communication skills. - Physical Requirements
:
Ability to work in high-stress, fast-paced environments. Must be able to lift and carry equipment and stand for long periods. - Certification
:
Safety and first aid certification is a plus. - Flexibility
:
