J/Heavy Duty Mechanic - NEP
Finning Canada is looking for a Journeyperson Heavy Duty Mechanic – New Equipment Prep to join our team in Kamloops on a 7x7 shift.

- Inspect and install customer options on a variety of Caterpillar equipment
- Diagnose faults or malfunctions related to the NEP using computerized and other testing equipment to determine extent of repair required
- Adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts, components or systems, using hand and power tools
- Test new equipment for proper performance and to ensure that work meets manufacturer specifications
- Perform basic routine maintenance work
- Various related duties as required
- Interprovincial Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Certification
- Clean Drivers’ Abstract (5 yr)
- Safety conscious team player with excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills with a high attention to detail
- Understanding of the Caterpillar product line and previous repair experience on the equipment would be considered an asset
- Engine and/or component rebuilding experience would be considered an asset
- Transmission or Hydraulic testing would be considered an asset
- Experience with Lawson, SIS (Service Information System) and warranty systems considered assets
- Completion of Finning S-Levels, Failure Analysis, Machine Electronic Controls, or Tier 4 training would be considered an asset
- Previous experience with NEP in related fields would be considered an asset
- Previous gas engine and power generation experience would be considered an asset.
- This is a position based out of our Kamloops branch on a 7x7 Continuous Shift
- A condition of employment may include the ability to obtain Customer Site Access and wear a respirator
- Any future shift changes that may occur will be made in accordance with the terms and conditions of the Collective Agreement.
