Overview
Finning Canada is looking for passionate and field experienced Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Technicians (Red Seal preferred) to join our team based out of our Kamloops branch. This role focuses primarily on Mining Operations and offers an opportunity to work on ultra-class Caterpillar equipment. The Heavy Equipment Technicians are responsible for troubleshooting, maintenance and repair of a variety of Caterpillar general line equipment throughout the region, in a field environment.

- Troubleshoot, repair and maintain CAT equipment in either a shop or field environment (possible remote locations)
- Respond to customer needs in a positive, supportive, and timely manner to ensure maximum value for work performed
- Diagnose faults or malfunctions using computerized and other testing equipment to determine extent of repair required
- Provide support with reference to on-site safety requirements
- Maintain Finning Customer Service Commitment
- Interprovincial Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Certification
- Clean Drivers’ Abstract (5 yr)
- Strong experience in Electrical, Hydraulic and Emissions systems
- Engine and/or component rebuilding experience would be beneficial
- Transmission or Hydraulic testing experience
- Previous gas engine and power generation experience would be considered an asset
- This role is based out of our Kamloops facility on a 7x7 Shift
- A condition of employment may include the ability to obtain Customer Site access (Drug & Alcohol, fitness testing) and wear a respirator where applicable
- Union Membership:
