Business Development Manager
Job Description & How to Apply Below
Moving Mountains Logistics operates one of British Columbia's most electrified last-mile delivery fleets. With electric cargo vans across the BC Interior and Vancouver Island, we deliver for local producers, wineries, healthcare providers, and e-commerce brands. We're a BC-owned company building a real alternative to the national carriers.
We're looking for a contracted Business Development Manager to build our direct shipper client base across the BC Interior, Okanagan Valley, and Vancouver Island. This is a new business acquisition role — you'll be hunting, not farming. We have fleet capacity ready to deploy. Your job is to fill it.
What You'll Do- Identify, pursue, and close delivery contracts with wineries, food producers, retailers, pharmacies, healthcare facilities, and e-commerce brands across our service territory
- Build and manage a sales pipeline through cold outreach, in-person visits, industry events, and referrals
- Negotiate service agreements and delivery rates with new clients
- Develop carrier and overflow partnerships with national and regional logistics companies
- Represent MML at trade shows, industry events, and regional business associations
- Coordinate with dispatch and operations to ensure smooth onboarding of new accounts
- Healthcare & pharmaceutical courier (Interior Health, Island Health)
- Regional grocery, restaurant supply & local food distribution
- 3+ years in B2B sales or business development with a proven track record of closing new accounts
- Experience in logistics, courier, freight, distribution, or transportation
- Existing network in the BC Interior and/or Vancouver Island business community
- Comfortable with cold outreach — door-knocking, cold calling, showing up at loading docks
- Valid BC driver's license and willingness to travel regularly across the service territory
- Self-directed — this is a build-from-scratch role, not a desk job
- Previous experience at a carrier (Purolator, Fed Ex, Loomis, Canada Post) or regional courier company
- Familiarity with the Okanagan wine industry, food production sector, or healthcare logistics
- Route sales or distribution sales background (food service, beverage, wholesale)
- Independent contractor — monthly retainer plus commission on new business revenue
- 3-month initial term with renewal based on results
- Travel expenses covered
- You run your own schedule — we care about contracts signed, not hours logged
- Strong performers will have the opportunity to grow into a senior leadership role as MML scales
This role is built for someone who bets on themselves.
