General merchandise department manager

Position Summary

To provide customer service by coordinating the activities of associates to complete assigned handheld terminal activities. Ensuring a zoned and stocked sales floor and offering assistance to meet the customer’s shopping needs. This will be accomplished by maintaining and recovering merchandise all in a safe and clean environment. This Department Manager will function as a lead of a team to strategically plan and execute duties based on workload and customer traffic patterns.

The minimum rate of pay for this position starts from $19.60. Rate of pay will be determined based on relevant experience.

• Providing excellent Customer Service by greeting all customers in a polite and friendly manner, assisting customers by promoting products/services, locating merchandise and making purchase decisions, resolving customer issues and referring concerns where appropriate.
• Delegate, assist and follow‑up on the completion of Customer Availability Process tasks – Section Work, Capping bins, Stocking picks.
• Delegate, assist and follow‑up on the completion of price changes and feature sets.
• Delegate, assist and follow‑up on modular completion in assigned area.
• Delegate and support with coverage in required areas on the sales floor as needed, support with recovery and zoning activities.
• Contribute to a safe, clean and hazard‑free work environment through adherence to Company policy and procedures, including the completion of safety sweep logs and ensuring displays and fixtures are secure and free of debris.
• Ensuring associate breaks are taken in accordance with coverage.
• Training, coaching and offering feedback to associates.
