Interior Health is hiring a Term Specific Full Time Nurse Practitioner in Kamloops, British Columbia. This term will be until July 26, 2027 or the return of incumbent.

The North Shore Primary Care Centre’s interdisciplinary team works collaboratively to provide a range of on-site health services. Care is client-centered, culturally safe, and supports individuals from early years through to end of life. Patients may be seen by a nurse practitioner and supported by a nurse, social worker, or other health-care providers.

Salary Range:
Hourly range for the position is $74.74/hour - $82.21/hour. Interior Health establishes salaries within the minimum and maximum of the salary range based on consideration of the qualifications, experience of the applicant.

Key Responsibilities:

Diagnosis and Treatment:
Assess and diagnose undifferentiated diseases and conditions, provide treatment, and prescribe medications in line with the Nurse Practitioner’s scope of practice and regulatory standards.

Care Management:
Monitor ongoing care, order diagnostic investigations, interpret results, and develop tailored treatment plans to optimize patient outcomes.

Patient Communication:
Establish care priorities, provide follow-up treatment, and communicate effectively with patients and families about diagnoses, care plans, and prognoses.

Collaboration and Consultation:
Work closely with physicians and other healthcare professionals to assess, diagnose, and create individualized treatment plans. May also admit and discharge patients as per organizational policies.

Prescribing Medication:
Prescribe medications within legal and regulatory guidelines, ensuring the safe and effective use of pharmaceutical treatments.

Leadership and Supervision:
Lead and guide other nursing and healthcare personnel. Provide education, supervision, and performance evaluations to support professional development.

Research and

Innovation: Contribute to research aimed at enhancing patient care and advancing nursing practices. Participate in initiatives to influence healthcare policies and population health strategies.

Health Promotion:
Lead health promotion activities and screenings, focusing on at-risk populations to prevent illness and promote well-being.
