About

The Role

In this role, you’ll support the environmental public health department and have meaningful experience that will enable you to pursue a career  will learn different aspects of First Nations Health more specifically in public health messaging, communications or health promotion. Some duties will include updating and modernizing file management and organizational systems. Meeting coordination and supporting the Program Assistant to create resources for staff, community and student roles.

You will have direct support and regular check‑ins. You will participate in an end of term cultural ceremony and social, and ongoing career support.

In addition, you will enhance your understanding of First Nations' culture and traditions, and FNHA’s role in improving health outcomes for First Nations people in BC.

About You
  • Recent completion or current enrollment in an undergraduate program specific to Public Health, Environmental Health, Sciences and/or Business Administration, or other relevant undergraduate level program work
  • Must be 3rd or 4th year candidate enrolled in an undergraduate program, or recent completion
  • Relevant and recent experience in research and analysis, ideally in sciences, healthcare and/or First Nations organizations
  • Must work at an advanced level with PC and Microsoft tools (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, strong time management and communication skills
  • Advanced experience composing a range of documents and summarizing data and analyzing resources.

The Pay Range is the minimum and maximum annual salary based on full‑time equivalent hours. Incumbents are typically hired, transferred, or promoted between the minimum and midpoint of the range based on their knowledge, skills, abilities, and experience in relation to the role requirements. The top 10% of the pay range is for the incumbents who are industry experts in the job with the combination of exceptional experience and competencies needed to perform all duties and responsibilities at a superior capability level.
