We are seeking a full-time Neuropsychiatrist or General Psychiatrist with relevant training and experience to join the multidisciplinary team and oversee the 12-bed Neuropsychiatry Unit at Hillside Centre.
Responsibilities- Provide comprehensive neuropsychiatric assessments for adults with significant complexity
- Lead the multidisciplinary team (nurses, SW, OT, PT, Psychology, Neuropsychology) and participate in treatment planning conferences.
- Participate in BC Neuropsychiatry rounds, held virtually, on a weekly basis
- Act as a resource for referring psychiatrists/teams and support the transfer of care to partners on discharge
- Synthesize and apply a customized biopsychosocial framework, and translate into care recommendations and plans
- Advocate for patients supporting re-integration to their home communities
- Participate in general psychiatry call at RIH
- Option to provide outpatient care through the community-based Acquired Brain Injury Program
- Opportunities for medical leadership positions

- Teaching opportunities for UBC medical students, FP residents, and psychiatry residents
- Opportunities for CME activities with colleagues at Royal Inland Hospital and access to funding for projects through the Royal Inland and Hillside Physician Association (RIHPA)
- Dedicated office space at Hillside Centre and opportunity to work with 3 other psychiatrists.
