ELIGIBILITY:
Students must be Work Study Eligible (as determined by Financial Aid) and enrolled in a minimum of 6 credits.
LENGTH OF EMPLOYMENT:
Academic Calendar Year 2025/2026
WORK SCHEDULE:
Flexible schedule between Monday and Friday, 8 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.; occasional evenings and weekends. Works up to 19 hours per week.
DRESS CODE:
Business casual with appropriate coverage
POSITION PURPOSE/ROLE:
Support the Veteran Center under the supervision of the Student Engagement Coordinator.
POSITION DUTIES:
- Perform customer service by greeting students
- Maintain the cleanliness of the FVCC Veteran Center
- Promote the FVCC Veteran Center and the FVCC Veterans Association
- Assist with planning, promotion, and implementation of special projects and events
- Assist with resource information at outreach and special events
- Perform general office tasks using office equipment, such as a computer and a photocopier
- Perform other duties as requested.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Ability to work independently or as a team player
- Ability to work with students, staff, faculty, and community partners
- Willingness to try new things
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Previous experience with the Service Learning Program
- Previous experience with social media
STUDENT SKILL DEVELOPMENT:
Communication, critical and reflective thinking, customer service, leadership, professionalism, teamwork
PREDICTED OUTCOME:

STUDENT EMPLOYMENT GUIDELINES:
- Students must be enrolled in a minimum of six (6) credits for fall or spring semester to qualify for student employment.
- Students may not work beyond 19 hours per week during semester.
- Student workers shall be actively engaged; no use of cell phones (except in case of emergency) or social media.
- Student workers shall demonstrate a commitment to the job with adherence to work schedule, effective communication/interpersonal skills, and quality customer service skills to be a representative of FVCC.
