Job Title: CNC Programmer & Operator - Custom Cabinetry
Location: Kalispell, Montana
We’re seeking a skilled CNC Programmer & Operator with hands-on experience in custom cabinetry and woodworking. This role is ideal for someone who understands the craftsmanship behind fine cabinetry and can translate that knowledge into precise, efficient CNC machining. The ideal candidate is detail‑oriented, comfortable in a fast‑paced shop environment, and capable of producing high‑quality components with consistency.
Responsibilities- Program, set up, and operate CNC routers and related machinery for custom cabinet production.
- Interpret architectural drawings, shop drawings, and cut lists to create accurate CNC programs.
- Optimize tool paths, feeds, and speeds to ensure efficiency, accuracy, and material conservation.
- Perform machine setup, calibration, tool changes, and routine maintenance.
- Inspect finished parts for quality, accuracy, and adherence to specifications.
- Collaborate with designers, engineers, and shop staff to resolve production challenges.
- Maintain clean, organized work areas and follow all safety protocols.
- Troubleshoot machine issues and make adjustments as needed.
- Assist with general woodworking tasks when required, including assembly, sanding, and fitting.
- Program CNC Router using CAD/CAM software to produce custom cabinet components.
- Set up and operate CNC machinery.
- Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on CNC equipment.
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and design specifications.
- Conduct quality checks on finished products to ensure they meet design and industry standards.
- Optimize machining processes to improve efficiency and reduce waste.
- Maintain accurate records of production and machine settings.
- Collaborate with the design team to troubleshoot and resolve production issues.
- Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Experience with custom, one‑off, or small‑batch cabinetry production.
- Knowledge of nested‑based manufacturing workflows.
- Background in cabinet assembly or finish carpentry.
- Experience maintaining CNC equipment and shop tools.
- Proven experience as a CNC Programmer/Operator in a custom cabinet shop or similar setting.
- Proficiency in CAD/CAM software (e.g., AutoCAD, Solid Works, Mastercam).
- Strong understanding of CNC machinery, tooling, and manufacturing processes.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot machinery issues.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work independently and meet production deadlines.
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical training or certifications are a plus.
- Ability to lift and carry materials weighing up to 75 pounds.
- Standing, bending, and reaching for extended periods.
- Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, dust, and machinery.
