Work Unit Overview
Employee is paired with a C.N.A to assist in the non-certified needs of the facility, staff and residents.
Job SummaryThis position is flexible and adapts to the needs of the facility on a day to day basis. Residential Aid task list is a guideline. One can assist with all kinds of facility/resident needs in all departments. Tasks will be assigned as training is complete. No direct care will be done. This position can also assist another C.N.A. with resident care as a secondary assistant, not the primary.
Do not transfer residents.
- Make beds in the am and get residents started on their day; i.e. get coffee, pick out clothes
- Get beds turned down and night clothes out
- Remove dirty linen
- Empty garbagecans
- Answer call lights
- Provide 1:1
- Q 15-minute building checks
- 2nd person for resident lifts, gather lifts for CNA
- Answer phone, answer front door
- Walk to dine. Work on getting those residents to the dining room that can be walked. Assist with getting residents back to room after meals and activities
- Assist with wheel chair residents
- Pass room trays
- Pick up room trays
- Make sure rooms stocked with supplies and labeled- i.e.; mollies, pull-ups, wipes, toothpaste, deodorant etc.
- Vital signs
- Pass ice water
- Snack Cart
- Remind residents of mealtimes and activities
- Work with other C.N.A.'s to become familiar with PCC charting, shift reports, B&B book, care plans and other charting focus.
- Get beds and night clothes ready.
- Paint fingernails
The job requires freedom from illegal use of drugs and freedom from use and effects of drugs and alcohol in the workplace. Ability to obtain Certified Nurse’s Assistant Certification within 6 months of hire date. Persons who have been found guilty by a court of law of abusing, neglecting or mistreating individuals in a health care setting are ineligible for employment in this position.
Must pass a background check. Will train people interested in learning, growing and adapting to dynamic healthcare environment.
