Security Installation Technician

Job Summary

We’re seeking a high‑level Security Installation Technician to join our team in Grand Rapids, MI. The role involves installing Security Cameras and Card Access for commercial accounts, reading blueprints, running and terminating Cat 6 cable, and applying commercial fire alarm codes.

• Proficient with cable pulling – Cat 6.
• Installation of IP Cameras.
• Installation of access control systems.
• Use of scissor lifts.
• Installation of projectors or A/V equipment.
• Install structured cabling infrastructure (CAT 3/5/6 copper, fiber, coaxial), patch panels, and wire‑management systems in data center environments.
• Coordinate installation and testing of premises equipment (PDUs, switches, routers, optics, Wi‑Fi access points).
• Utilize industry‑standard cable test procedures (wire mapping, OTDR, network analyzer, visual fault locator).
• Rack, stack, and install hard drives.
• Conduct media testing for fiber and copper.

• Strong communication and professionalism.
• Ability to read blueprints.
• Knowledge of commercial fire alarm codes – pull stations, smoke detectors.
• Experience with scissor lifts and A/V installation.

Contract‑to‑Hire position based out of Kalamazoo, MI. Up to 50% travel across the US.

Pay range: $30.00 – $35.00 per hour.
