Position SummaryThe Nursing Research Program Manager provides strategic leadership and mentorship for Bronson’s nursing research program. This role serves as a key facilitator supporting nurse-led research and evidence-based practice initiatives while fostering a culture of clinical inquiry and scholarly excellence.
Reporting to the Director of Nursing Professional Practice, this position collaborates closely with nurse leaders, educators, and interdisciplinary teams to strengthen research capacity, align initiatives with organizational priorities, and support Magnet® nursing excellence standards.
Key Responsibilities Research Program Coordination- Help establish nursing research priorities and strengthen research infrastructure across the organization.
- Support the planning, implementation, and integration of nursing research, quality improvement, and evidence-based practice projects.
- Assist with research protocols, IRB submissions, and regulatory documentation.
- Coordinate research logistics including recruitment, data collection, and reporting.
- Monitor study progress, data integrity, and protocol compliance.
- Support dissemination of research through presentations, posters, and publications.
- Participate in or lead Nursing Research Council and shared governance activities.
- Mentor nurses on research methodologies, proposal development, IRB processes, data interpretation, and dissemination.
- Facilitate journal clubs, workshops, and bedside inquiry initiatives.
- Develop and deliver educational programming related to research and evidence-based practice.
- Promote nurse-led scholarship and professional growth.
- Support nursing research activities aligned with Magnet Recognition Program® standards.
- Serve as liaison between nursing leadership, staff, and Magnet Program leadership.
- Assist with preparation of Magnet documentation, including empirical outcomes and research reporting.
- Ensure adherence to regulatory, ethical, and organizational research standards.
- Partner with nursing leaders, interdisciplinary teams, and shared governance councils to identify and implement research initiatives.
- Support strategic planning and operational initiatives related to nursing research.
- Collaborate with academic partners to advance nursing research opportunities.
- Communicate research progress and outcomes to key stakeholders.
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Michigan.
- Doctorate degree required (PhD or DNP).
- Minimum two years of clinical nursing experience.
- Knowledge of research methodologies, IRB processes, data collection, research ethics, and quality improvement tools.
- Experience in nursing leadership and clinical research.
- Familiarity with Magnet Recognition Program® standards.
- Research certification (CCRA, CCRC, CCRP, or ACRP-CP).
- Training in evidence-based practice or quality improvement.
- Experience with electronic health records and data analytics tools.
- Strong leadership, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Excellent analytical and critical thinking abilities.
- Strong organizational and project management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and data management tools.
- Commitment to nursing excellence and lifelong learning.
- Primarily office-based with occasional presence on clinical units.
- May require attendance at evening or weekend meetings or professional events.
