Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Telemetry position in a cardiac unit, requiring a MI RN license and strong cardiac monitoring skills.

• Position is on a 54-bed main cardiac telemetry unit in a hospital setting
• Patient population includes heart failure, heart attack (STEMI & NSTEMI), stroke with cardiac monitoring, cardiac arrhythmias, chest pain, and occasional medical overflow
• Most patients require continuous cardiac monitoring via remote telemetry
• Nurses manage cardiac drips on the unit
• Nurse-to-patient ratios typically 1:5-6, may be 1:7 with call-ins
• Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts (19:00-07:30)
• Every other weekend required
• Must work 2 out of 3 major holidays
• Uses Cerner Power chart for charting
• Overflow medical patients may be admitted as needed
• Scrub color for this position is Caribbean Blue
• No on-call duties are required
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Block scheduling is not guaranteed but may be accommodated when possible
• The team is actively onboarding new staff and hiring Patient Care Technicians to help manage workload

• Current MI RN license required
• Minimum of 1 year of RN experience
• Certifications required: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Must live at least 50 miles from the facility (no locals)
• Experience with cardiac monitoring and managing cardiac drips preferred
