CNC Programmer / Process Engineer – Precision Milling

Kalamazoo, MI | $90,000 – $115,000 | Day Shift | 4x10 Schedule (Mon–Thurs)

About the Opportunity

We’ve partnered with a high-precision aerospace and medical manufacturer in Southwest Michigan seeking a CNC Programmer / Process Engineer with strong 3 & 4-axis vertical milling experience.

This is a process ownership role — not just programming. The right candidate will build machining strategies from scratch, optimize cycle times, improve quality, and support operators on the floor.

If you’re someone who sees inefficiency immediately and knows how to engineer stability into a machining process, this role was built for you.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Program and develop 3 & 4 axis vertical milling processes using CAD/CAM software (Mastercam or similar)
  • Take complex parts from print to production
  • Select tooling, feeds, speeds, fixturing, and cutting strategies
  • Reduce scrap and improve cycle times
  • Troubleshoot process issues and support shop-floor execution
  • Read and interpret GD&T and complex blueprints
  • Partner with production and quality to maintain aerospace/medical standards
  • Train and elevate operators on process best practices
What We’re Looking For
  • 3+ years programming vertical mills on complex precision components
  • Strong blueprint reading and GD&T knowledge
  • Experience machining stainless, high-nickel, or super alloys preferred
  • Ability to build a stable process from start to finish
  • CAD/CAM proficiency (Mastercam, Esprit, or similar)
  • Aerospace and/or medical manufacturing background preferred
  • Continuous improvement mindset
Why This Role Stands Out
  • 4-day work week (10-hour shifts)
  • Stable, growing precision manufacturer
  • Strong benefits package (health, dental, vision, 401k match, PTO)
  • High visibility and real process ownership
  • Long-term growth potential
