The Welding Robot Operator Lead is responsible for supervising and coordinating the daily operation of robotic welding equipment and processes. This role ensures the highest levels of safety, quality, and efficiency, while leading a team of operators to meet production goals. The Lead acts as the primary link between production staff and management, troubleshooting equipment issues, training team members, and ensuring compliance with all company standards and OSHA regulations.

• Program, set up, operate and monitor robotic welding machines to meet production schedules.
• Verify welding parameters, tooling, and fixtures before production runs.
• Ensure welds meet Profielnorm’s quality standards, customer specifications, and engineering drawings.
• Coordinate workflow and assign tasks to operators to optimize machine utilization and minimize downtime.
• Train, mentor, and support welding robot operators and new hires.
• Promote a culture of teamwork, responsibility, and continuous improvement.
• Communicate priorities, safety expectations, and shift handovers clearly.
• Provide performance feedback to operators and escalate issues as required.
• Enforce company safety policies and OSHA/MIOSHA compliance at all times.
• Ensure all team members use proper PPE and follow safe work practices.
• Conduct daily safety checks and participate in incident investigations when needed.
• Perform routine machine checks and basic preventive maintenance on welding robots.
• Troubleshoot welding robot machine malfunctions and coordinate with maintenance technicians.
• Document production data, downtime and quality checks in company systems.

• High school diploma or equivalent required; technical or welding certificate/training preferred.
• 3-5 years of experience in robotic welding or automated welding systems.
• Prior lead or supervisory experience strongly preferred.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
• Knowledge of MIG welding, welding symbols, and blueprint reading.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
• Willingness and ability to travel to Europe for paid training.
