We are seeking reliable, hard-working, team players to join our growing manufacturing team in Kalamazoo. These opportunities are on 1st shift, with overtime and career growth opportunities. Pay: $17.00–$19.00 per hour.
Job SummaryJoin our dynamic manufacturing team as a Steel Packager, where your precision and mechanical skills will play a vital role in ensuring high-quality packaging of steel products. This role involves banding, packaging, and preparing steel components for shipment while adhering to safety and quality standards. Responsibilities- Operate hand tools and mechanical equipment to band and package steel products accurately and efficiently
- Use forklifts and warehouse equipment to transport raw materials and finished goods within the facility
- Conduct quality inspections of packaged steel items to ensure they meet specifications and safety standards
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the packaging area, ensuring a safe working environment
- Assist with inventory management by accurately recording packaged items and updating warehouse logs
- Previous experience in manufacturing or warehouse environments is preferred, especially involving packaging or material handling
- Ability to read a Tape Measure to 32nd
- Mechanical knowledge and experience using hand tools are highly desirable for precision work
- Experience operating forklifts or other warehouse equipment is beneficial, with certification preferred
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to follow detailed instructions and safety protocols
- Proven attendance record, must be highly reliable
- Positive attitude and team-player mindset
This position is temp-to-hire and is on 1st shift with hours of 6:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. Occasional mandatory overtime may be 4:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. or 4:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
