Maintenance Technician / Mechanic
Currently seeking a 3rd shift Industrial Maintenance Technician to join our team in Kalamazoo, MI. Our ideal candidate has well‐rounded experience and feels most successful when helping a team run smoothly on the off shift. Experience with general manufacturing and machine principles is required.
This position often works independently and must be flexible, as hours vary according to project demands and may include time outside regular hours (8 pm – 6:30 am Sunday – Wednesday) with overtime on Thursday.

How You Contribute- Troubleshoot and repair hydraulics, pneumatics, and powder coat equipment.
- Repair facility equipment such as rollers, benders, and presses.
- Maintain electrical components, including both new installation and changes to existing components.
- Ensure material and supplies are available to perform projects successfully.
- Assist in developing, implementing, and supporting facility and equipment PM system.
- Integrate robotics, fixtures, and PLCs.
- Partner with Manufacturing Engineers on adjustments, maintenance, repairs, and updates to production fixtures in a timely manner.
- Develop and/or improve relations with outside contractors/vendors for maintenance and facility needs.
- Consistently complete the daily objectives with little direct supervision.
- Apply common sense understanding to detailed instructions and resolve problems.
- Understand and serve the needs of internal customers by providing positive technical support.
- Demonstrated history of achievement with an emphasis on problem solving and continuous improvement.
- Naturally accepts responsibility and makes a positive impact on a team.
- Ability to read detailed engineering drawings.
- Experience with operation of toolroom equipment such as lathes, vertical mills, drill presses, MIG/TIG welding would be a plus.
- Must have a working knowledge of production machinery (e.g., CNC, servo systems, hydraulic) and solid understanding of facility operating systems (e.g., HVAC, electricity).
- Basic computer skills, knowledge of Windows and/or Microsoft Office.
- Ability to construct tools and/or equipment as necessary.
- Understanding of OSHA/MIOSHA requirements as they pertain to machine operation.
Must be able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in common units of measure. Analytical ability to apply toward problem solving. This position must possess a higher level of communication and reasoning ability, as they are required to work with a variety of disciplines in troubleshooting and repair of equipment and machines.
LanguageAbility to comprehend technical information and write basic instructions. Ability to give clear instruction on procedures and policies.
Work Environment andPhysical Requirements
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for up to 10 hours. May work up to heights of 35 feet and bend, twist, crouch or kneel 80% of the time. Environment may be noisy or hot.
