* * Executive Director - Bronson Commons Kalamazoo, Michigan Area Working with the Assistant Vice President of Post-Acute and Care Management the Executive Director is responsible for progress development, planning, organizing, and directing the activities of employees engaged in providing clinical care and services offered through Bronson Commons. Responsible to insure compliance with all regulatory requirements with attention to patient satisfaction, quality outcomes with fiscal accountability.

Assignments are typically in the form of general results expected with considerable freedom to decide on procedures to be followed.
* Current Michigan NHA (Nursing Home Administrator) License required.
* Bachelor's Degree in nursing, business or health care administration required, Master's Degree strongly preferred. Five to seven years of progressive leadership in a health care setting required. Skilled Nursing Facility leadership strongly preferred.
* Interacts with top management, important outsiders, and others in situations where major policy matters, programs, employee relations issues and operational affairs are discussed and/or decisions made.  Contacts require considerable tact and communication skills in order to negotiate with, gain the acceptance of, and/or change the thinking of others in difficult and complex situations.  
• Works as a leader in the community.  Able to communicate effectively with the public, physicians, physicians’ office staff, hospital case managers, insurance and managed care companies.  
• Works cooperatively with facility and system leaders to develop programs that enhance Bronson’s efforts to expand post-acute care and elder care services.  
• Collaborates with Bronson Healthcare Group’s Corporate Communications Department in promoting all aspects of Bronson Commons.  
• Uses knowledge of State of Michigan SNF regulations and Medicare conditions of participation, applicable to directing all service areas of the operation.  
• Collaborates with Asst. Vice President of Post-Acute in preparation and control of annual budget.  
• Develops, approves, and (when necessary) secures approval of policies designed to ensure the attainment of agreed-upon goals for areas of responsibility.  Ensures the development of the procedures necessary to implement approved policy.  
• Hires subordinate supervisory personnel and advises them in planning the appropriate staffing for their areas of responsibility.  Evaluates, develops, and (when necessary) disciplines and discharges subordinates, delegating such matters to managerial employees as appropriate.  
• Directs the design and establishment of appropriate management control procedures to monitor work volume, efficiency standards, the quality of services provided and other management concern for areas of responsibility.  Reviews records and reports and initiates corrective actions, requests special analyses, and/or changes control procedures when necessary.  
• Collaborates and consults with the medical Director as appropriate to solve operational problems and to improve services.  
• Responsible for the development of and effective departmental organizational structure including (a) efficient work flow patterns, (b) delineation of duties/responsibilities, (c) suitable staffing levels, (d) appropriate supervision, and (e) mechanisms for timely communication of pertinent information.  
• Responsible for the development, implementation and monitoring of quality performance indicators for Bronson Commons.  Assures all regulatory requirements for monitoring are met.
