The Gilmore Festival Fellows Transportation Coordinator is responsible for scheduling, driving, and providing logistical support for the 12 Gilmore Festival Fellows during their residency in Kalamazoo from May 1–10, 2026. Transportation will primarily be concentrated in the areas of downtown Kalamazoo and Western Michigan University’s School of Music.
The coordinator will work directly with the Director of Education and the Education Manager, create a transportation schedule for the Fellowship, execute the plan, and respond to the Fellows’ needs during their stay.
Responsibilities- Schedule vehicle pickups, drop‑offs, and transportation logistics for all fellows.
- Provide reliable transportation in a 12‑passenger van for the duration of the festival.
- Maintain and communicate a clear, up‑to‑date schedule using Google tools.
- Be available to address any transportation‑related needs or changes for the fellows throughout the festival.
- Familiarize and escort fellows throughout downtown Kalamazoo and WMU’s campus.
- Excellent verbal, written, and texting communication skills.
- Valid driver’s license and vehicle insurance.
- Daily availability from April 30 – May 11, 2026.
- Ability to drive a 12‑passenger van.
- Familiarity with downtown Kalamazoo and WMU’s campus.
- Experience creating and communicating schedules using Google tools.
- Proficiency in Google Workspace, especially Google Sheets, Google Calendar, and data management.
- Familiarity with Whats App.
- Secondary language fluency.
- Musical knowledge and familiarity with classical and jazz music.
The position is hourly and part‑time with pay commensurate with experience and skill, starting between $22.00 to $25.00 per hour.
Hourly commitment:
- January 2026: 2–5 hours per week (part‑time).
- April 2026: 5–10 hours per week (part‑time).
- April 30 – May 11, 2026 (Festival Dates): daily commitment required, with potential for overtime.
