Position Overview

We are seeking a Travel Registered Nurse (RN) for a high-volume Cardiac Telemetry Unit caring for complex cardiac patients. This is the hospital’s main cardiovascular telemetry unit , treating patients requiring continuous cardiac monitoring and cardiac drips.

Traveler must be comfortable with higher patient ratios.

Nurse-to-Patient Ratios

• Typically 1:5–6

• May go up to 1:7 with call-ins (Unit is actively onboarding travelers and PCTs to reduce workload.)

Schedule Requirements

• 3x12 Nights (1900–0730)

• Every other weekend

• Must work 2 out of 3 major holidays

• No call required

• Block scheduling not guaranteed

Unit Details

• 54-bed Cardiac Telemetry Unit

• Patients include:
- Heart failure
- STEMI & NSTEMI
- Stroke patients needing cardiac monitoring
- Arrhythmias
- Chest pain
- Cardiac drips
- Occasional medical overflow

• Patients are monitored via:
- Remote telemetry room
- Bedside telemetry on the unit

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of RN experience

• First-time travelers accepted

Certifications:

- BLS
- ACLS
- NIHSS

• Charting:
Cerner Power Chart

Traveler Requirements

• Must live at least 50 miles from the facility (locals not accepted)

• Must be comfortable working with:
- Cardiac drips
- High-acuity cardiac patients
- High patient ratios
