Job Summary
We’re looking for a Life Enrichment Assistant to support the Life Enrichment Director in providing engaging group and individual activities for residents. This role involves regular personal interaction with a diverse resident population and a varied work schedule that includes alternating weekends, evenings, and holidays. Responsibilities also include record keeping, maintaining a welcoming environment, proper use of supplies and equipment, and organization and upkeep of storage areas.

- Upon starting shift, proceed around to residents’ rooms and collect any water cups that may be lingering, take to the kitchen to be washed. Fill new cups with ice and water to be distributed to each resident’s room to help maintain hydration.
- Assist with activities as planned and directed by the Life Enrichment Director.
- Be sure area for scheduled activities is free and proper noise level for program being performed.
- Set area up as needed for the type of activity planned, ensure you have enough supplies for potential residents attending.
- Remind Resident Assistants and residents of the scheduled activity. Go to each resident’s room and encourage them to come down for excitement and fun.
- Assist in transporting residents to and from activity area as needed, have availability to go on the outings to assist and support residents.
- Follow the instructions of the activity as directed.
- Inform the Life Enrichment Director of any and all needed supplies for scheduled activities.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Minimum of 1 year experience as an activity assistant
- Flexibility to work scheduled hours as required
- Compassion and a genuine interest in working with the senior population
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Pleasant and compassionate personality, energetic with a positive attitude.
- Respect for authority, respect the rights of the residents, including the right to privacy and the right to make choices.
- Maintains composure in stressful situations, has knowledge on redirection in difficult situations.
- Works well with others as a valuable team player.
- Helps maintain a pleasant and cheerful environment.
- Assist with putting up and taking down and storing decorations for all occasions.
- Frequent bending/lifting, walking, sitting, using fingers and hands in a repetitive motion.
