Access and Emergency Mental Health Clinician specializing in youth and families

Working as an Access and Emergency Mental Health Clinician
, you will be responsible for working both in the office and in community settings to provide assistance with various mental health-related needs, including crisis intervention, assessments, and referrals to ongoing services. This position focuses primarily on working with youth and families; however, it is cross-trained to provide assessments and crisis interventions with adults as well. This includes providing clinically appropriate crisis interventions to individuals in a mental health crisis, assisting community members with information about mental health resources, and completing same-day access assessments.
You will work as part of a team in a variety of roles for the Kalamazoo County community.
There are two schedule options available for this position – shift preference may be discussed during the interview process.
Schedule Options Available- Four Days Per Week – Days are to be determined with the team.
- 12 pm to 10 pm
- 8 am to 7 pm
Evening shifts include an additional shift premium per policy.
What We RequireYou will have a master’s degree in human services or related field and a minimum of one year experience working with adults that have a serious mental illness, substance use disorder or co-occurring condition. A valid Michigan Driver’s license and Licensed Master Social Worker (LLMSW/LMSW), Licensed Professional Counselor (LLPC/LPC) or Limited License Psychologist (LLP) are required. CAADC and/or a development plan preferred.

Physical EffortsJob demands include prolonged sitting and standing. Requires light lifting up to 25 pounds, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or bending. Requires coordination of hands and/or eye/hand/foot and ability to hear and communicate verbally.
Working ConditionsIn-office environment with noise from computers, copy machines, and telephones. Use of computer for periods in excess of 30 minutes at a time. May be exposed to blood borne pathogens, infectious diseases, and parasites. May encounter community environments that include homes, schools, courts, and other community settings that may or may not be barrier-free. Travel throughout the Kalamazoo area may be required.
